Robotic Assisted Brochoscopy (RAB)

What is RAB?

The Ion Robotic Bronchoscope is a revolutionary technology, which enables highly accurate pulmonary sampling, even from small lesions, with or without leading airways.

It integrates navigational technology, like “google maps” for the lungs, and supreme stability, to enable confident lung sampling, in the safest manner possible.

The safety and confidence that the RAB provides allows for sampling of multiple lung lesions in the one procedure, even from both lungs, in certain cases.

What are the benefits to RAB?

The use of this technology reduces the chances of requiring multiple procedures to obtain the answers patients and referring doctors require, often with shorter anaesthetic time, as compared to equivalent techniques, such as cone-beam CT (CBCT) guided procedures with Augmented Fluoroscopy (which Dr. Wilsmore also offers).

Who is right for RAB?

RAB or CBCT guided bronchoscopy is for your patients in need of diagnostic lung sampling.
